As you arrive in Meadieval times you should look for some troubadors, Then gather up a group of peasant's and hand out the candy and snacks. As they enjoy their snacks announce yourself as Sir Monty. As the troubadors witness this generosity, and this magnificent knight they are bound to spread the word and stretch the truth. When word reaches the vassal, he will want to appoint you under his command, now you bargain with him. It would be bright to ask for some land and serf's, and in return say you will train soldiers and fight by his side when in need. This Time Traveler would get you up in the rankings, it will help you gain popularity and help you get a good start in medieval time's.
